The Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy (ACSWP) is pleased to announce the creation of a speaker’s bureau to provide education facilitators for congregations and mid-councils. The goal of the initiative is to help all levels of the PC(USA) to access and investigate the many social witness policies of the denomination.
“As a committee, we are charged with helping the church discern what it means to act faithfully in the world,” notes ACSWP co-chair Rachael Eggebeen.”We hope that by providing these learning opportunities we can help to bring our denomination’s policies to life in our local communities.”
At the most recent General Assembly in 2016, policies were adopted on Honest Patriotism, Religious Freedom Without Discrimination, and The Precautionary Principle, among others. Congregations and Mid-Councils interested in creating learning opportunities around these and other social witness policies of the PC(USA) are encouraged to contact ACSWP at ACSWP@pcusa.org.
