Biography |
I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1997. During High School I was a varsity swimmer and lacrosse player. I was also active in student government, environmental organizations and was one of my church’s founding youth group members.
I discerned a call into ministry at a young age and knew upon entering college that I would one day go to Seminary. I was advised to get a well-rounded undergraduate education. I studied at Penn State where I earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Religious Studies, Comparative Literature and International Studies with a minor in German in 2001.
In college, I was a United Way Big Sister, a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and was the President of a 400 plus member environmental group called Eco-Action. I also volunteered with local churches’ youth programs. Eventually I entered Princeton Theological Seminary in 2001 and graduated in May 2004 with a Masters of Divinity.
My studies had a concentration in Youth Ministry and Christian Education. During my years at Princeton, I was a preschool teacher, an Assistant Youth Director, a Confirmation Class and Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Women in Church and Ministry Committee. I also was the worship leader for different student groups and was involved in theater productions as well as being an avid rock climber.
I feel it is important to share God’s abundant and abiding love with all people. I became a Licensed Minister in 2005 and was ordained in 2007. Now I can add mother to my resume. I feel blessed to be dually called in life – both as a mother and as a Pastor. God has placed a deep desire to serve inside of me and I am excited to see where my life’s path is leading. I feel blessed by the opportunity to serve at Norfield and am looking forward to getting started.
