Grew up in New England (Worcester, MA), graduated from Gordon College (christian liberal arts college) with major in politics, minors in sociology & economics. Spent a year in Palo Alto (teaching and editor of 2 Christian magazines); graduated from Tufts University (Boston, MA) MA, majoring in Politics, minor in Social Theory; MLS from Univ. of Iowa in Library Science. Taught at Dordt College (IA, Christian college-politics and sociology (1982-2012). Lived 4 yrs. in Sioux Falls, SD, currently live in Columbia, SC. Have 3 adult daughters, married.
