Grew up in California in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Became a lifelong member of the PCUSA during college years at Stanford. I was ordained in 1976 and have worked for many church-related boards and agencies as well as the Council on Foundations. I am currently President of the Vellore Christian Medical College Foundation in New York City.
