Not sure where the moral core went, as regards the PCUSA. I recall various delegations going to Soviet Russia and “laughing, praying, weeping” with the designated huggy bears and returning to tell us we have nothing to fear but whichever Republican was president.

She’s cleared several hundred thousand dollars. Not a bad deal. But you’re right. We both know the truth and agree. That’s why there’s no point in debating this. We both know it was a scam. The difference is who thinks it was just a dandy idea and who thinks it was foul.

Exactly. Political theater ginned up by democrats with zero corroboration. There was plenty of investigation. But even the named witnesses had no idea what Ford was talking about. Our church sponsored a Nepali family. After a number of years of doing things the right way, I attended the naturalization ceremony. Eighty-one people from nineteen countries. Paid their dues, did it the right way. Should I have stood up and yelled “CHUMPS!”

Now, there are plenty of smart economic reasons for why divestment is the wisest course of action at this point, in addition to its moral urgency.
